  • "Organizers of a Christian prayer ministry are expecting over a million people will fill the National Mall in Washington, D.C, on Aug. 16 for a 12-hour assembly of fasting and prayer for the country.
The group is called TheCall, and according to their website, volunteers are working hard to gather people from every state in the country to fill the massive park between the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol on one day to fervently ask God for his undeserved mercy on the nation.
Originally inspired by the 1997 Promise Keepers "Stand in the Gap" assembly at the same location, TheCall held its first D.C. prayer rally on Sept. 2, 2000, counting over 400,000 attendees. Since then, the group has held rallies in several cities in the U.S., including a rally of 70,000 in Nashville and 85,000 in New York City, according to the group's website. The group has also held prayer gatherings oversees, but told television broadcaster GOD TV this year's TheCall DC will surpass all previous gatherings in size.
TheCall's founder, Lou Engle, says of the gathering, "There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens. It is in these moments that key men and women risk everything to become the hinge of history. That pivotal point determines which way the door will swing. Join us in a massive gathering of united generations desperate for revival and real change in our nation."
TheCall has produced a video, which can be seen below, highlighting past prayer rallies and promoting this year's TheCall DC gathering:

According to the group's website, their "divinely initiated, multi-racial, multi-generational, and cross-denominational" gatherings are not festivals or conferences, but solemn assemblies of worship and prayer. The site makes it clear in several places that though the event will be attended and led by well-known Christian leaders and artists, the group refuses to publicize any personalities.
"TheCall does not seek to entertain, but to encounter God," the website says. "There will be no advertised bands and no promoted speakers, as our purpose is not to promote any man or ministry."
For the two days prior to the prayer gathering, however, the group does host a pastors and leaders conference that will feature speakers Ron Luce, Tony Perkins, Mike Huckabee, TheCall founder Lou Engle, and Promise Keepers founder Bill McCartney.

"WASHINGTON (AP) ― St. Louis Cardinals player Albert Pujols waves after he was presented with a Hope Award during the "Restoring Honor" rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial at the National Mall on Aug. 28, 2010, in Washington, DC.
Tony La Russa doesn't understand the minor backlash that's been created by his participation in radio personality Glenn Beck's rally in Washington on Saturday, an event the St. Louis Cardinals manager said was more religious in tone than political.
Before Saturday night's game against the Washington Nationals, La Russa said complaints had been made to the Cardinals' offices in St. Louis about his participation in what some viewed as an event with political overtones....
Asked what he thought of the event, La Russa said: "It was beyond gratifying. I was inspired. There were a lot of things that inspired me. It was more religious, much more religious (than political). ... I'll raise money for those folks anytime. Albert got a legitimate award I was asked to introduce. I don't see the problem."
Nor does Pujols, who gladly uses his celebrity to help the less fortunate.
"God's given me some amazing talent, but I also think that it's my responsibility to give back to the community of St. Louis as well as to the Dominican Republic," Pujols said before Saturday's game at Nationals Park.
Pujols has established a foundation that helps people with Down syndrome and assist the poor in the Dominican Republic.
"I want to be able to give back," Pujols said.
Pujols also was confused as to why some observers thought he was participating in a political rally.
"I know a lot of people were thinking it was going to be a political thing or something like that. What I heard was ... everybody praising God for the amazing things done in their life, family and the soldiers," Pujols said.
During his introduction, La Russa said heroes often are seen as products of movies, television and fiction books, but there are real-life ones like Pujols. What makes Pujols so special, La Russa said, is his commitment to his family, faith and community.....

There are dozens of indications 9/11/01 wasn't what the Bush Administration and Obama Administration want you to believe. Here are just a few:
*Four planes can't crash and leave no wreckage.
*Everybody now knows that demolition charges blew up the Twin Towers. But also consider this: How could such strategically planted explosives, with precision timing, be left undisturbed after two Boeing 767s sliced through the buildings like a knife through butter? Can you really have both the charges and the planes? Think about it. "

How could something that big, hit that fast and that close to the ground, without tearing up the lawn and causing a hole only: ....
Where are the wings, engines, baggage, seats or bodies? Wouldn't there have been fuel splattering everywhere? Every crash I've ever seen on the news or in photographs show a whole - whole - lot of debris. Did this plane just disintegrate into thin air? We are supposed to believe that the fire burned hot enough to turn the plane and everything in it to ash, but if you look at the pictures of the Pentagon released by Time, Newsweek and People Magazine, you'll see:
"...walls of the interior are not only unblemished, but show no signs of soot, smoke or heat damage. On the upper floor, to the left of one of the support columns, one can plainly see a green file cabinet with a computer monitor or TV on top of it. Two floors below one can plainly see a wooden stool with an open book on top of it. Are we to believe that a plane with 8,600 gallons of fuel would not generate a fireball and enough heat to singe the pages of an open book only feet away? or to melt the plastic case of a monitor?" ...
We know that Army Captain Liebner claims he saw an American Airlines passenger jet. But he wasn't the only witness. Other accounts reported in the American press, immediately after the event, suggest either a smaller aircraft or a winged missile.
But what happened to the people listed on the passenger manifest of flight 77? In fact, WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO FLIGHT 77?
Well, it seems that there is no way of knowing this because the plane turned off its transponder. In other words, no one can be sure what was flying in that air space. Could Flight 77 have been replaced by a drone?..

Jihadi terror plot on U.S. Capitol foiled

  • Authorities: Suicide attack on U.S. Capitol foiled From Carol Cratty, CNN updated 8:30 PM EST, Fri February 17, 2012 .cnn.com

  • "Washington (CNN) -- A 29-year-old man from Morocco was arrested Friday and charged with attempting to bomb the U.S. Capitol building in a suicide attack, authorities said.
Suspect Amine El Khalifi made an initial appearance in court and, if convicted, faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, according to the Justice Department.
He allegedly went to a parking garage near the Capitol on Friday and received what he thought was a vest with explosives and a firearm, both of which had been rendered inoperable by law enforcement. He was arrested before leaving the garage.
"Today's case underscores the continuing threat we face from homegrown violent extremists," said Assistant Attorney General for National Security Lisa Monaco. "Thanks to a coordinated law enforcement effort, El Khalifi's alleged plot was thwarted before anyone was harmed."
The suspect was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction against government property. Authorities say the public was never in any danger.
As news of the arrest broke, the Senate had just wrapped up voting on a payroll tax cut extension deal. The House of Representatives had already voted on the deal and members had left, or were leaving. Tourists were also at the Capitol, as is usual. v During his initial court appearance, El Khalifi wore blue pants and a green T-shirt with the words "Ready in Season" on the back. He had short black hair, a trimmed, thin beard and tattoos on his inner arm. He stood straight, showed no emotion and did not speak. Source: Man tries to attack U.S. Capitol
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday.
The suspect, an immigrant from Morocco, is in the United States illegally. He had been closely monitored as part of a lengthy and extensive undercover operation, police said, adding that U.S. Capitol Police had been "intimately" involved in the investigation.
The suspect entered the United States in June 1999 on a B2 visa -- which allows for trips for pleasure, tourism or medical treatment, according to an FBI affidavit. His visa expired that same year and he has been living in the United States illegally ever since.

In January 2011, a confidential source reported to the FBI that El Khalifi met with other individuals at a residence in Arlington, Virginia. A person there produced what appeared to be weapons and El Khalifi "expressed agreement with a statement by this individual that the 'war on terrorism' was a 'war on Muslim,' and said that the group needed to be ready for war," the affidavit read.
At another point, El Khalifi allegedly said he would "be happy killing 30 people," it said.
One law enforcement official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told CNN that authorities are searching two locations in Virginia in connection to the investigation -- one in Arlington, the other in Alexandria.
A second law enforcement official said El Khalifi is not connected to a terrorist organization and was acting alone.
El Khalifi thought he had met al Qaeda members who would assist him, but in fact he was dealing with undercover FBI agents, said the second source, who declined to say whether the FBI has audio or video recordings of the suspect talking to undercover agents about his plans.
A third source briefed on the matter said the suspect was identified through an existing criminal, not terrorism investigation. When asked about possible entrapment, the U.S. government source said the suspect went out on his own to buy component pieces for an improvised explosive device.
After news of the arrest broke, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor hailed the work of the FBI and the U.S. Capitol Police in thwarting the alleged attack.
"These brave members of our law enforcement community make daily sacrifices in their work to keep us safe and deserve tremendous credit for their efforts leading up to today's successful sting," he said.
President Barack Obama was informed on Thursday about the FBI's plan to arrest El Khalifi, a White House spokesman said.
Top congressional leaders were also briefed on the arrest and operation, a congressional source said, though it was not clear exactly when.
Unlike some other recent attacks on the Capitol, Friday's alleged suicide plot involved a suspect willing to kill himself.
In September last year, a federal grand jury indicted a man for allegedly plotting to use large remote-controlled model airplanes filled with explosives to attack the Capitol and the Pentagon.
A man was arrested in September 2008 two blocks from the Capitol after an officer spotted a rifle in his car.
And in July 1998, a gunman fired shots in the Capitol building, killing two U.S. Capitol Police officers.
CNN's Dan Lothian, Deirdre Walsh, Susan Candiotti, Eric Fiegel and Fran Townsend contributed to this report."

  • " WASHINGTON - Our nation has a very rich and substantial Judeo-Christian heritage. Our founding fathers believed the Bible to be the word of God. As we remember our nation's history, we want to give you an idea of just how much of our Christian heritage is on display in Washington D.C., our nation's Capitol.
Washington D.C. is a city of power and influence, but it is also a city sparkling with the Christian heritage of this nation. Groups like the ACLU want the name of God and government to be separate but that will be pretty difficult here in our nation's capitol.
As a matter of fact, right at 17th and Constitution Avenue is a pretty good place to start. Literally, within a few minutes walk, you bump into so many references to God that the ACLU very well might have a fit."

  • Washington, D.C.: Remembering our Christian Heritage By David Brody Congressional Correspondent

  • "Carrie Devorah is an investigative photojournalist behind a project called "God in the Temples of Government." She has been searching Washington for signs of a godly heritage, and boy, has she found some. She led us to the prophet Daniel, literally.
He is actually tucked behind some bushes on the property of the Organization of American States building, which is partly funded by Congress." Many employees there did not even know about the statue.
Devorah said, "None of them had a clue where he was, and I don't think anybody knows the condition he's in. He's made from concrete and as you can see he's falling apart, but I have faith in Daniel."
Her tour was not finished. Just down the block, there is an inscription at The Daughters of the American Revolution building. It says, "Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair the event. The event is in the hands of God." There is also Proverbs 22:28 quoted for everyone to see. Maybe it is a message for the ACLU: "Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set."
When we walked by The Department of the Interior, it looked like one of your run-of-the-mill government buildings. But Carrie revealed to us that, behind one of the corner walls, is a time capsule and inside is, among other things, a Bible. It was put there by archaeologists years ago.
Then Devorah brought us to the statue of General Jose Artigas in the middle of this busy intersection on Constitution Avenue, right on federal government property. As our camera peered in, we noticed a cross on his boot. That made Devorah wonder.
She said, "All it takes is one person to walk by and say I don't believe in God, I don't believe in religion, and every time I look at that, it may be just be a decoration on a boot, but I see it as being a cross and I want it taken off."
Then she took a walk over to the Korean Veterans Memorial. Talk about Judeo-Christian Heritage. She found a cross and the Star of David, right there on the Korean Wall!
Devorah said, "It's become almost like being a kid in a candy shop, because there's so much to find."
David Barton, president of the Christian heritage group, Wallbuilders, says that is so true. Take the U.S. Capitol, for instance.
Barton said, "Just walk into the Rotunda. In the Rotunda, four paintings hang on the wall. You have two prayer meetings, a Bible study and a baptism. That's just walking into the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol."
Besides the Capitol, you will find references to God at the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the National Archives, Senate and House office buildings, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Library of Congress.
As we walked into the main reading room of the Library of Congress, there is a bronze statue of Moses holding The Ten Commandments. On the ceiling, a painting called "Judea" shows a young Israeli woman raising her hands in prayer to God. And there are also quotes on the wall like this: "The heavens declare the glory of God." And down the hallway in the main lobby, two Bibles are on display.
In the National Archives, as our camera panned down from the majestic rotunda, we found a bronze medallion on the floor and right at the top, this: The Ten Commandments, front and center.
At the Jefferson Memorial, God's name is mentioned numerous times, including the famous quote, 'God who gave us life, gave us liberty."
At the Lincoln Memorial, words like "Nation under God," "Bible" and "prayer" are everywhere.
In the Senate and House office buildings, there is a plaque that says "In God we trust."
At the Washington Monument, our CBN cameras managed to get inside the dark stairway. We found almost 200 carved plaques donated by the states. Many of them show scripture verses from the Bible, and others have sayings like "holiness to the Lord." On the outside aluminum tip, there is a Latin phrase inscribed that says 'Laus Deo,' which means 'Praise be to God.' They actually have a replica of the tip inside. But the 'Praise Be to God' phrase is not visible. It is actually against the wall, so it is hard to see.
At the U.S. Supreme Court, The Ten Commandments are located in a few different places, including above the judge's courtroom bench. Yet even with all these references to God in our federal buildings, there are some judges out there who say God and government just do not go together.
Barton said, "You have judges that say we don't believe that and we don't like that religion in politics, so we're going to stop this. And that's what we have, and that's why nearly every decision we have [from] the court will break down between whether the constitution really means something, or whether they'll rewrite it according to [their] will."
And so you see scenes like The Ten Commandments rolled away in Alabama. And that is just the beginning. But the reality is, God's name is cemented in stone, and that is something that cannot be disregarded.
Devorah commented, "I think it's being disregarded because it's politically incorrect, and I tease people about the 'pc' (politically correct). I have the other 'pc,' which is 'pictorially correct.'"
Sometimes you just cannot argue with the evidence. So the ACLU and other groups may try to remove God from the public square, but what they cannot remove is the undeniable fact that our nation was born on the principles of Almighty God, and the pictures are there to prove it."

    -Earthquake

  • Quake rocks Washington area, felt on East Coast APBy BOB LEWIS - Associated Press | AP – 3 hrs ago (Tuesday, August 23rd 2011)

  • "MINERAL, Va. (AP) — The most powerful earthquake to strike the East Coast in 67 years shook buildings and rattled nerves from South Carolina to Maine on Tuesday. Frightened office workers spilled into the streets in New York, and parts of the White House, Capitol and Pentagon were evacuated.
There were no immediate reports of deaths, but fire officials in Washington said there were at least some injuries.
The National Cathedral said its central tower and three of its four corner spires were damaged, but the White House said advisers had told President Barack Obama there were no reports of major damage to the nation's infrastructure, including airports and nuclear facilities.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake registered magnitude 5.8 and was centered 40 miles northwest of Richmond, Va.
Two nuclear reactors at the North Anna Power Station, in the same county as the epicenter, were automatically taken off line by safety systems, said Roger Hannah, a spokesman for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The earthquake came less than three weeks before the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, and in both Washington and New York it immediately triggered fears of something more sinister than a natural disaster.
At the Pentagon, a low rumbling built until the building itself was shaking, and people ran into the corridors of the complex. The shaking continued there, to shouts of "Evacuate! Evacuate!"
The Park Service closed all monuments and memorials on the National Mall, and ceiling tiles fell at Reagan National Airport outside Washington. All flights there were put on hold.
In lower Manhattan, the 26-story federal courthouse in lower Manhattan, blocks from ground zero of the Sept. 11 attacks, began swaying, and hundreds of people streamed out of the building.
The New York police commissioner, Raymond Kelly, was in a meeting with top deputies planning security for the upcoming anniversary when the shaking started. Workers in the Empire State Building spilled into the streets, some having descended dozens of flights of stairs.
"I thought we'd been hit by an airplane," said one worker, Marty Wiesner.
Another, Adrian Ollivierre, an accountant, was in his office on the 60th floor when the quake struck: "I thought I was having maybe a heart attack, and I saw everybody running. I think what it is, is the paranoia that happens from 9/11, and that's why I'm still out here — because, I'm sorry, I'm not playing with my life."
New York District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance was starting a news conference about the dismissal of the sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund, when the shaking began. Reporters and aides began rushing out the door until it became clear it was subsiding.
On Wall Street, the floor of the New York Stock Exchange did not shake, officials said, but the Dow Jones industrial average sank 60 points soon after the quake struck. The Dow began rising again a half-hour later and finished the day up 322 points.
In Washington, the National Cathedral said cracks had appeared in the flying buttresses around the apse at one end. "Everyone here is safe," the cathedral said on its official Twitter feed. "Please pray for the Cathedral as there has been some damage."
Shaking was felt as far south as Charleston, S.C., and as far north as Maine. It was also felt on Martha's Vineyard, off the coast of Massachusetts, where Obama is taking summer vacation and was starting a round of golf when the quake struck at 1:51 p.m. EDT.
Obama led a conference call Tuesday afternoon on the earthquake with top administration officials, including his homeland security secretary, national security adviser and administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Around Mineral, Va., a small town close to the epicenter, people milled around in their lawns, on sidewalks and parking lots, still rattled and leery of re-entering buildings. There was least one aftershock.
All over town, masonry was crumpled, and there were stores with shelved contents strewn on the floor. Several display windows at businesses in the tiny heart of downtown were broken and lay in jagged shards.
Carmen Bonano, who has a 1-year-old granddaughter, sat on the porch of her family's white-frame house, its twin brick chimneys destroyed. Her voice still quavered with fear.
"The fridge came down off the wall and things started falling. I just pushed the refrigerator out of the way, grabbed the baby and ran," she said.
By the standards of the West Coast, where earthquakes are much more common, the Virginia quake was mild. Since 1900, there have been 40 quakes of magnitude 5.8 or greater in California alone. There have been 43 of magnitude 6 of greater.
Quakes in the East tend to be felt across a much broader area.
"The waves are able to reverberate and travel pretty happily out for miles," said U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Susan Hough.
More than 12 million people live close enough to the quake's epicenter to have felt shaking, according to the Geological Survey. The agency said put the quake in its yellow alert category, meaning there was potential for local damage but relatively little economic damage.
The USGS said the quake was 3.7 miles beneath the surface, but scientists said they may never be able to map the exact fault. Aftershocks may help to outline it, said Rowena Lohman, a seismologist at Cornell University. There were at least two aftershocks, magnitudes 2.2 and 2.8.
The last quake of equal power to strike the East Coast was in New York in 1944. The largest East Coast quake on record was a 7.3 that hit South Carolina in 1886. In 1897, a magnitude-5.9 quake was recorded at Giles County, Va., the largest on record in that state.
A 5.8-magnitude quake releases as much energy as almost eight tons of TNT, about half the power of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. The earthquake that devastated Japan earlier this year released more than 60,000 times more energy than Tuesday's.
The Virginia quake came a day after an earthquake in Colorado toppled groceries off shelves and caused minor damage to homes in the southern part of the state and in northern New Mexico. No injuries were reported as aftershocks continued Tuesday.
On the East Coast, Amtrak said its trains along the Northeast Corridor between Baltimore and Washington were operating at reduced speeds and crews were inspecting stations and railroad infrastructure before returning to normal.
In Charleston, W.Va., hundreds of workers left the state Capitol building and employees at other downtown office buildings were asked to leave temporarily.
"The whole building shook," said Jennifer Bundy, a spokeswoman for the state Supreme Court. "You could feel two different shakes. Everybody just kind of came out on their own."
In Ohio, office buildings swayed in Columbus and Cincinnati, and the press box at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians, shook. At least one building near the Statehouse was evacuated in downtown Columbus.
In downtown Baltimore, the quake sent office workers into the streets, where lamp posts swayed slightly as they called family and friends to check in.
John Gurlach, air traffic controller at the Morgantown Municipal Airport in West Virginia, was in a 40-foot-tall tower when the earth trembled.
"There were two of us looking at each other saying, 'What's that?'" he said, even as a commuter plane was landing. "It was noticeably shaking. It felt like a B-52 unloading."
Immediately, the phone rang from the nearest airport in Clarksburg, and a computer began spitting out green strips of paper — alerts from other airports in New York and Washington issuing ground stops "due to earthquake."
The earthquake caused a stir online, where people posted to Facebook and Twitter within seconds and described what they had felt. The keywords in posts, or hashtags, included "DCquake," ''VAquake" and "Columbusquake," an indication of how broadly the quake was experienced.
"People pouring out of buildings and onto the sidewalks and Into Farragut Park in downtown DC," Kevin Madden, a Republican strategist, posted on Twitter.
Quake photos and videos also made the rounds. A handful were authentic. Many more were not — they were favorite earthquake scenes from Hollywood blockbusters or footage of people shaking their glasses and plates at an Olive Garden.

  • How the quake affected U.S. landmarks By the CNN Wire Staff August 23, 2011 11:02 p.m. EDT cnn.com

  • "Washington (CNN) -- The earthquake that struck the eastern United States on Tuesday affected some major sites and landmarks. Here is a look at the latest developments: -- The U.S. Capitol was cleared for employees to come back to get their belongings, but inspectors asked people to limit their time inside the building while engineers continue to work around the complex. -- A secondary inspection of the Washington Monument revealed some cracking in the stones at the top of the monument, the National Park Service said. Structural engineers will evaluated the cracks on Wednesday to determine the best way to repair the 126-year-old obelisk before it is reopened. The monument grounds have been reopened except for an area about 100 feet outside of the plaza. -- The National Park Service said it reopened the Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial at 7:20 p.m. The Old Post Office Tower will reopen at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

    - The National Cathedral will be closed to the public Wednesday after three of the four corner spires on its central tower cracked and fell onto the roof. "Engineers report that the building itself did not incur any damage to its structural integrity," the church said in a news release Tuesday.
-- The Smithsonian Institution Building in Washington has cracks in the interior walls because of the earthquake, but there's no indication of structural damage at this point, Smithsonian Secretary Wayne Clough said. The building will still need to be evaluated, he said.
-- All Smithsonian museums shut down for the day, the institution said.
-- The White House and adjacent buildings evacuated as a precaution following the earthquake were given the all-clear, the U.S. Secret Service said. The FBI and Justice Department have also reopened evacuated buildings.
-- Some personnel were evacuated from the Department of Homeland Security facility in northwest Washington, but the national operations center remained functional, a homeland security official said.
-- Terminal A at Washington Reagan National Airport was evacuated because of an odor of gas, airport spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis said. Initial sweeps of the building showed no major damage from the earthquake.
-- At the new Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, which has a dedication scheduled for Sunday, "all is good," an organizer said. "We're performing the required safety checks and procedures, and Park Service has been on site with us monitoring (the) situation."

  • . Military drone mistaken for UFO on D.C.’s Capital Beltway By Ron Recinto | The Lookout – Thu, Jun 14, 2012. news.yahoo.com

  • "Some folks in the Washington, D.C., area are buzzing about what they thought was a UFO atop a flatbed truck on the Capitol Beltway. Turns out the disc-shaped object was just a run-of-the-mill military drone. MyFoxDC reports that what drivers saw—and some photographed—around 11 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 270, and then later on Interstate 495, was an X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System being transported from Edwards Air Force Base in California to the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland for testing. Related video: Recent crash raises questions about drone safety. During its travels through the D.C. area, local station WTOP reported a flurry of activity on Twitter about the strange-looking object. This not the first time a drone was mistaken for something alien. Last year, a drone being transported by flatbed to Pax River for practicing aircraft carrier takeoffs and landings was also mistaken for a UFO, the Daily Caller reported.

The media attempted to craft a similar scenario following the Richard Poplawski shooting, which killed three Pittsburgh police officers, despite the fact that the incident arose as a result of a domestic dispute between Poplawski and his mother, and not as a consequence of Poplawski’s political beliefs, as the media attempted to spin the events.
The debunkers and the establishment can now have a field day with the Pentagon shooting and use it to make the case that 9/11 truthers are violent and should be silenced, ignoring the fact that not a single 9/11 truther has committed an act of violence in pursuit of their beliefs, and despite efforts to frame 9/11 truther Gary Talis when he was falsely accused of attacking a girl in a wheelchair. Talis was acquitted by a New York jury despite New York police officers and one Secret Service agent lying in claiming Talis had assaulted the girl when in fact he was the one being assaulted by the girl’s father.
There can be little doubt that we will see more incidents like last night’s shooting and, whether genuine or staged, they will be exploited to the maximum by the establishment media and the government to portray anyone who questions 9/11 and anyone who expresses “resentment” about how they have been looted for trillions of dollars as violent extremists who need to be silenced.
Such incidents will dovetail perfectly with the rapid advancement of cybersecurity and Internet censorship laws that will force people to obtain licenses to exercise free speech on the web, while providing Homeland Security with the perfect pretext to increase surveillance of all Internet traffic and communications.

-Washington Monument top cracked by earthquake APAP – 13 mins ago (Tuesday, August 23rd 2011) news.yahoo.com
" WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service says engineers have found a crack near the top of the Washington Monument presumably caused by a magnitude-5.8 earthquake that shook the East Coast.
Park service spokesman Bill Line said Tuesday night that structural engineers found the crack where the 555-foot landmark narrows considerably.
He says the monument will be closed indefinitely to keep the public safe.
An outside engineering service will study the crack on Wednesday.
The 91,000-ton monument is made of Maryland marble.

Workers scramble to plug cracks in Washington Monument ahead of Irene From Dan Merica, CNN August 26, 2011 6:44 p.m. EDT

"Washington (CNN) -- Just days after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake cracked the Washington Monument in four places, the National Park Service is trying to protect it from being further damaged by Hurricane Irene, spokeswoman Carol Johnson said Friday.
Engineers for the National Park Service are working inside the Washington Monument to "plug holes and catch anything that they can't plug," Johnson told CNN. "We have a group of people who are on ropes up there, trying to pin and plug whatever they can."
The engineers are using a flexible insulation called backer rod.
"They are basically jamming it into the cracks," Johnson said.
"They are doing what they can and putting this backer rod in and then they are going to go back up and inspect after the storm," she added.
One area of special concern -- the most extensive damage to the stonework near the top caused by Tuesday's earthquake.
"The crack is about 4 feet long and 1 inch wide and in some places wider and you can see sunlight through the crack," Johnson said.
The monument is closed indefinitely to the public while engineers assess the damage caused by the quake.
Even without the new cracks, the monument would have experienced seepage because of the way it was built, according to Johnson.
"The anticipation is there will be more water because of these cracks. These cracks allow the water to get directly through and that is why we are doing everything we can to put in temporary waterproofing," Johnson said.
However, the water is not expected to compromise the stability of the structure, she said.
The first rain bands from Hurricane Irene began hitting the South and North Carolina coasts Friday. The storm is expected to near the D.C. area Saturday night into Sunday."

Washington Monument, from Tour of DC
" Work progressed favorably until 1854, when the building of the monument became involved in a political quarrel. Many citizens became dissatisfied with the work and the collection of funds lagged. This unfortunate affair and the growing antagonism between the North and South, which resulted in the Civil War, brought construction to a halt. For almost 25 years, the monument stood incomplete at the height of about 150 feet. Finally on August 2, 1876, President Grant approved an act which provided that the Federal Government should complete the erection of the monument. The Corps of Engineers of the War Department was placed in charge of the work.
In 1880, work was resumed on the shaft. The new Maryland marble with which the remainder of the monument is faced was secured from the same vein as the original stone used for the lower part. It came from a different stratum, however, which explains the "ring" noticeable on the shaft. The walls of the memorial reached 500 feet on August 9, 1884, and the capstone was set in place on the following December 6, marking the completion of the work. The monument was dedicated on February 21, 1885, and opened to the public on October 9, 1888."
