I'll be going to the state of Maryland for the first time in 2 weeks (March 29th-April 1st of 2006) for a conference (COPC-OUP). I'll be going to the city of Baltimore.

-Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church/Port Street Garden Project (article)
Rev. Karen L. Brau
-John Hopkins University's campus has and is currently a big economic impact to this neighborhood. Also, they are the largest employer for the state.

We ended the tour at the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition, Inc.-YO (Youth Opportunity) Center. They had posters of different design plans for this part of Baltimore along the walls of the meeting place. Leaders (young and old) from the community shared their roles of their contribution to this coalition.

Out Around Town
After taking an afternoon nap before venturing out late Friday evening, I went to check out the east area of the hotel. First, I walked to Baltimore Orioles' beautiful baseball park- Camden Yards, which is a huge attraction for me as a baseball fan.

I went to check out a statue of Babe Ruth by the park before checking out his birth place. I had the chance to look at the park from around the open viewing spots outside of the stadium. Then I walked 2-3 blocks east to Babe Ruth's Home.
Unfortunately, this place was close. I have been looking for a place to check my e-mail, so I walked to the University of Maryland campus library. Before leaving this city, I wanted to check out this aquarium that "everybody" has been talking about-The National Aquarium.

Before entering the place, we were approached by several youth with a gospel-tract from Greater Grace World Outrach Church. I was encouraged by the faith of these youth going around town late in the busy Friday evening. Below are are some pictures from ESPN Zone:
